Job Announcement National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Publications Coordinator The National Gay and Lesbian Task Force works to eliminate prejudice, violence and injustice against gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people at the local, state and national level. DESCRIPTION: The Publications Coordinator is responsible for working with staff to organize, update, edit, write and distribute the organization's publications and materials. Issue areas include families, marriage, youth, civil rights, hate violence, sodomy law repeal, state legislation, voting trends and other issues of concern to the GLBT community. SUPERVISION: The Publications Coordinator reports to the Political Director. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Inventory and organize publications. * Work with staff to update and edit materials. * Produce fact sheets, talking points, maps and other written documents. * Conduct research and assist program staff in researching policy issues. * Work with program staff and MIS director to prepare materials for web site. * Work with program staff to copy, print, and otherwise produce and distribute materials. * Participate as member of Program Team. * Provide administrative and other assistance to Political Director. * Perform other duties as assigned by Political Director or Deputy Political Director. QUALIFICATIONS: * Excellent oral and writing skills. * Highly organized and responsible self-starter. * Attention to detail. * Knowledgeable about the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. * Ability to work as part of a team. * Computer and Internet literacy. * Undergraduate degree, preferably in liberal arts or equivalent experience. * Experience and demonstrated commitment to working in a local, state or national non-profit organization. SALARY: $ 25,000 - 28,000. Full benefits provided.
