SHAYS-SCHUMER HOPWA AMENDMENT TO BE OFFERED ON THE HOUSE FLOOR WEDNESDAY

WE NEED YOUR REPRESENTATIVES TO VOTE YES!!!

URGENT:  Crucial Vote to SAVE 95 HOPWA Funding TOMORROW - Weds 3/15


Representatives Chris Shays (R-Conn) and Charles Schumer (D-NY) are
co-sponsoring an amendment to restore all $186 million - the whole FY 95
amount -- for  Housing Opportunities for People With AIDS (HOPWA.)  The money
for restoring HOPWA will come from the $14 billion NASA budget.

WE NEED TO WIN.  TO WIN, WE NEED EVERY POSSIBLE VOTE. TO GET THOSE VOTES, WE
NEED YOU!!!

Call your Representative today.  Tell them how important HOPWA funding is.
 Tell them we can afford to take a mere $186 million from the over $14
billion at NASA to keep people living with HIV/AIDS from dying prematurely on
our street and in our emergency rooms.  Ask them to vote FOR the
Shays-Schumer amendment to the FY 95 Rescissions bill when it goes to the
House floor on Wednesday.

We are facing a tough fight, because NASA is important to many members of
Congress.  We need them to understand that we have no choice: NADA is the
only possible offsett that will not hurt veterans or poor people.
