This month that is Tuesday, June 10 at 7pm at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center (1625 North Schrader Boulevard in Hollywood, two blocks west of Cahuenga Boulevard and one-half block south of Holywood Boulevard.) We will be meeting in Room 204 (on the second floor) in the library of the legal services department. This month's meeting will be for Immigration Equality members in an informational, social meeting. LA IGLHRC HOUSE PARTY SET FOR WEDNESDAY JUNE 18 at 6:30PM A Los Angeles House Party for the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) will be held on Wednesday June 18. Sydney Levy, former Asylum Project Coordinator, and current Program Director, will be the featured speaker. All Immigration quality members are cordially invited to attend the event. IGLHRC has been a strong supporter of the rights of gay and lesbian immigrants through its groundbreaking Asylum Project. ATTEND PRIDE AND SPREAD THE WORD AT THE SAME TIME Los Angeles' Gay and Lesbian Pride Celebration, a.k.a. Christopher Street West, will be held June 21 and 22 in West Hollywood. Immigration Equality needs to hear from members who are interested in distributing informational postcards to increase the visibility of lesbian and gay immigration issues at this huge community event. YOU CAN HELP WITH RESEARCH ON LESBIAN AND GAY IMMIGRATION Lionel Cantu, longtime IE member, is a PhD student at UC Irvine, writing his thesis on gay and lesbian immigrants. In order to facilitate his research Lionel has designed an anonymous questionnaire which he would like IE members to complete and return to him. The survey is included with this month's newsletter.
