According to the homosexual newspaper The Washington Blade, the Log Cabin Republicans - "a national gay group" - plans to spend "more than $1 million" to silence opponents of the homosexual special rights agenda. Strategy 2000, as Log Cabin calls it, will seek to "educate every Republican presidential candidate for the 2000 GOP nomination on a basic set of core, inclusive principles" - including a ban on what the group considers "anti-gay speeches or signs at the 2000 GOP Convention." The group's national strategy was announced in a statement released on January 20, the same day Rep. Tom Davis (R-Va.), chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee (RNCC), met with the Northern Virginia chapter of Log Cabin - a meeting in which he was introduced as being "front and center in opposing the anti-gay stuff." To voice your concern [LCR ed note: OR SUPPORT!] about Strategy 2000 to Republican leaders, write to Jim Nicholson, Chairman, Republican National Committee, 310 First Street, S.E., Washington, DC 20003, Ph: (202) 863-8500, Fax: (202) 863-8820, E-mail: info@rnc.org.
