Box 1281 Ft.Lauderdale, FL 33302 Jack Majeske, President GOLDEN RULE SHOWS LITTLE COMPASSION FOR BRUTALIZED GAYS Too many non-heterosexuals face the reality of a Biblical Rule which is not quite golden for them. Nothing more need be said than to attempt to ask that the parents of Matthew Shepard, faced with the vicious torture and premeditated murder of their son in Wyoming because of his sexuality, try and forgive those who would deny that reality. "Like other parents who have faced such loss, there can be no justification from the pulpit nor in the halls our legislative bodies for such ignorance in the face of mounting evidence of repression and open and subliminal hate" noted Andy Eddy, Director of Community Relations and Outreach for the Broward Log Cabin Club of Florida. According to Jack Majeske, BLCCF president, "There can be no honest nor sincere denial of the importance of a Hate Crimes Prevention Act that includes sexual orientation (HR3081 and S1529) so that the Matthew Shepards of our country are never brutally sacrificed again on the altar of intolerance." Once recognizing the inequities there can be no denial that the "Golden Rule" must be practiced daily not just publicly preached nor pretended once a week.
