Box 1218, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33302 WFTL'S PAT HURLEY GAY ATTACKS BACKFIRE While filling in for Steve Kane yesterday, Pat Hurley, guest host and supporter of the evangelical fundamentalist extreme right, continually attacked Wilton Manors Commissioner John Fiore, a member of the Dolphin Democratic Club, for his alleged homosexual agenda. While Broward Log Cabin Club has not agreed with some of the alleged tactics utilized by some "yella-dog" opponents of Mrs. Diane Cline, a gay-friendly Republican who has signed a Non-discrimination statement, it also strongly opposes the same type of campaign used by the Sunday moralist Hurley. The Paxton guest host not only stated that Ft. Lauderdale Commissioner Jack Latona was a Republican (WRONG) but he appears intentionally illusive, as are most born-again radical fundamentalist, about the essence of the Golden Rule and the meaningful Beatitudes. Unfortunately Hurley leads gay women and men away form the Republican party and their respective churches by his facade of evangelical Sunday rhetoric. Fortunately for Democrat Fiore, the WFTL Paxton bashing paid off. Andy Eddy, board member of Log Cabin Republicans, stated that, "the Republican Party must distance itself from this type of skewed and immoral deceptive bashing and into the sunlight of compassion, truth and understanding if it wants to correct the real wrongs of this nation."
