BOX 1281, FT. LAUDERDALE, FL 33302 (305) 563-3626 DECEMBER 8, 1995 MURDERS ATTRIBUTED TO TWO WOMEN'S STAND ON EQUALITY Again the subliminal message of "loving the sinner but Hating the Sin" has twisted the minds of radical reactionaries who cannot accept the fact that "Freedom from Religious Persecution" was and has been the cornerstone on which this great nation was founded and continually survives. Florida's Brandon Meehan felt the sting of those who "demonized" his sexual orientation far beyond the point on which the basis of the "Golden Rule" and the first two Christian Commandments rest. Alan Schindler and others who have encountered the pain of the military witch-hunts under the deceptive "Don't Ask - Don't Tell" ban codified by our national leaders again highlights the imbalance of equality on the scale of justice. The members and friends of the Broward Log Cabin Club of Florida mourn the unwarranted deaths of Michelle Abdill and Roxanne Ellis of Oregon. We abhor the violence and call upon all the leaders within the Republican, Democratic and Independent parties to stand up and be counted as this wave of intimidation and suffering continues across this nation. Lastly and importantly, church leaders cannot allow the subliminal distortions of demonism to continue as the yoke of intolerance on the backs of gay women and men any further.
