VICTORY FUND RECOMMENDED CANDIDATE PROFILE Tina Podlodowski for Seattle City Council Tina Podlodowski is a former executive of Microsoft, Incorporated, where she managed the overall business operations for eight domestic and four international sites. Among her extensive community activities, she is a member of the King County Affirmative Action Committee, a board member of Seattle Commons a citizen-inspired effort to revitalize a 470-acre business and residential neighborhood and a volunteer with a local program supporting children affected by HIV/AIDS. She is also project chair for an innovative program called CITIES (Center for Interactive Technologies), which seeks to provide modern technology training and access to inner-city youth, women, and people of color. Appointed by the mayor to the Seattle Commission for Lesbians and Gays, Tina also has a sterling record of service in the gay and lesbian community. She serves as a board member and past-president of the Pride Foundation, which works to strengthen the gay and lesbian community of the Pacific Northwest. Under Tina's leadership, the organization became the nation's leading gay and lesbian foundation, increasing its endowment fund from $200,000 to $6 million in just two years. Thanks to Tina's efforts as interim director, the local drop-in safe place for gay, lesbian and bisexual at-risk youth received its first-ever city funding. Tina's impressive list of endorsements includes the Police Guild and the Firefighter's Union.
