ACTION ALERT:  Please cross-post as widely as possible!!!

California State Senate Will Consider Anti-Gay Bill SOON
                      Please Act NOW to Stop it!!!

Assembly Bill 1982, passed by the State Assembly, would deny
recognition of same-gender marriages performed legally in other states.
This means that same-gender marriages performed legally in
Hawaii (pending Baehr v. Lewin's success) would be illegal in California.
The bill is now in the State Senate Judiciary Committee where
we must stop it.
IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT ALL SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE
(SEE BELOW) RECEIVE LETTERS AND CALLS OF OPPOSITION
FROM OUR COMMUNITY.

All across the United States, state legislatures are attempting to enact
laws that would prohibit same-gender marriage.  These efforts have been
turned back in a dozen states.  We can do the same here in California.

                    Lou Sheldon, Focus on the Family,
                  and other homophobes are mobilizing.
