IMMEDIATE MEDIA ACTIVATION NOW AVAILABLE
THROUGH GLAAD WEB SITE

LOS ANGELES, CA -- May 8, 1996 -- The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against
Defamation (GLAAD) has launched the GLAADAlert on the World Wide Web, which
will allow its members and others in the gay and lesbian community to
respond directly to the media on an immediate basis by providing detailed
information on activations.

"We are much more interactive with the GLAADAlert on the World Wide Web.
We are providing pre-written messages that visitors either send or edit to
personalize to their liking," said Loren Javier, GLAAD's Director of
Information Systems, "This makes responding to the media as easy as
pressing a button and is arm chair activism at its best. We are encouraging
our members to take advantage of it."

The first GLAADAlert was posted on GLAAD's Web site on Monday, May 6, 1996
and will be updated every other week or as developing conditions warrant.
