The Awards were created in 1990 to celebrate the organization's successes and to congratulate those whose work exemplifies the tremendous improvements that have been made in media coverage of the communities GLAAD represents. This year's honorees include Boy George, "The Celluloid Closet" and Sid Sheinberg, former president of MCA. They will be presented their awards by Ellen DeGeneres, Paul Reiser, David Schwimmer and Cybill Shepherd, among others.
