On Friday, December 8th, GLAAD will begin a weekly fax to media outlets giving the heads-up on issues and events of importance to our community across the country, and we need your help to make it timely and effective. "GLAADlines will be an invaluable tool for all media professionals. It will give them a sense of what's going on in the gay community. Likewise, it will serve gay & lesbian organizations across the nation who want to pitch story ideas or events to the national media," said Chiqui Cartagena, interim News Media Director. GLAADlines will be faxed out every Friday. If you know of an event that merits media coverage, or if there is a news story breaking in your area, please fax us by Thursday morning of that week. We need a concise synopsis of the event or story, plus the relevant details such as time, place, and a person to contact. We'll edit together as many of the stories as we can and then fax them out the next day. Our premiere fax will go out Friday, December 8th, so current stories should be faxed, e-mailed, or mailed to us by the morning of December 7th. GLAAD is a national organization that promotes fair, accurate, and inclusive representation of individuals and events in all media as a means of combating homophobia and all forms of discrimination based on sexual orientation or identity. For more information, please contact me by phone at (212) 807-1700, by e-mail at manley@glaad.org, or by fax at (212) 807-1806.
