Celebrities will present awards to recipients in the categories that include: Outstanding Film, Television Comedy Series, Television Drama Series, Television-Individual Episode, Made-for-Television Movie, Television Journalism, Print Journalism, Advertising, Comic Books, Music and Theater. Expected in New York are Joy Behar, Tony Bennett, Kate Clinton, Phil Donahue, Cherry Jones, k.d. lang, Cristina Saralegui, Marlo Thomas, Sigourney Weaver, and Bob and Harvey Weinstein. Scheduled to appear at the Washington, DC Awards ceremony are Margarethe Cammermeyer, Ricki Lake, Judith Light, Mary Louise Parker, Hillary Rosen, Scott Simon and Bob Smith. Cher, Jane Curtin, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ellen DeGeneres, Dana Delaney, Fran Drescher, Calista Flockhart, Anne Heche, Kathy Kinney, Howie Mandel, Garry Marshall and Elizabeth Taylor are scheduled to appear at the Los Angeles Media Awards. The GLAAD Media Awards were created in 1990 to honor individuals and projects in the media and entertainment industries for their balanced and accurate representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.
