NCAVP addresses the pervasive problem of violence committed against and within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and HIV+ (LGBTH) communities. NCAVP is a coalition of programs that document and advocate for victims of anti-LGBTH violence/harassment, domestic violence, sexual assault, police misconduct, and other forms of victimization. As the only organization providing services to victims of anti-LGBTH violence, NCAVP provides an authoritative and valuable viewpoint and response to incidents of anti-gay violence --- a viewpoint informed by years of daily interaction with victims, law enforcement and federal, state and local criminal justice agencies. NCAVP member agencies have been tracking serial killers in the LGBTH communities. In 1994 an NCAVP report identified eight serial killers across the country. Currently five of these killers remain at large and are collectively responsible for at least 35 murders. Now, as the search for Andrew Cunanan continues, NCAVP members across the country are working to insure the immediate safety of our communities. In covering future developments in this case, or in finding new ways and voices to help explain those circumstances, members of NCAVP are available for interviews, consultation and as a resource to your news organization. A list of contacts in various areas of the country is attached for your convenience. General NCAVP contacts are: Chris Quinn; New York: (212) 807.6761 Jeffrey Montgomery; Detroit: (313) 537.3323 Sharen Johnson; Los Angeles: (213) 993.7673
