AMERICAN FEDERATION OF VETERANS
1995 NATIONAL CONVENTION

Dear members, friends, and, advocates for our veterans
everywhere;

This document is nothing less than your invitation to help
create history. Your invitation to help mold the debate, to
decide on the goals concerning our community's place in
American society.

We, as Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual veterans and current
service members of the United States military, have the
unique ability to face challenges and never surrender,
securing victory at any cost. Your presence at the first
national convention of the American Federation of Veterans
will help shape and plan our action strategy for the next
five years. You are the "grass roots" And, AFV is the
grassroots organization for all of us to become the
vanguard and show the way for our community.

Look over this document, and you will discover that with
this convention, the AFV is committed to assist local
organizations in facing these challenges in the remaining
years of this century, and, into the 21st.

Our actions and votes in February will send a message loud
and clear to America that we are back and the fight for our
rights to serve in the military as well as to participate
as full citizens will not be denied. We will lift the ban,
we will obtain our rights, we will serve the needs and
interests of the veteran community, we will be the advocate
for our brothers and sisters currently serving..... but
only if you join AFV, and, vigorously support it's
programs. And it WILL be YOU who decide what those programs
shall be, now, and in the years to follow.

Our army of liberation is growing stronger each day. Won't
you enlist and meet with your comrades in New York this
February 1995?

Please register for the convention by the end of November.
Make your check or money order payable to GLBVNY with a
notation for "AFV 1995 NAT. CONV."
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact
either of your fellow veterans listed below.

Looking forward to the sunrise in Pawling, New York.

In Unity,

German Lopez,
Acting President, AFV
