Taken from _The Nothern Star_, Northern Illinois University DeKalb IL April 27, 1993 "Gays at a glance" Findings below are based on a sample of 7,500 gay men, lesbians and bisexuals randomly selected in late 1992 from a national pool of 40,000 such men and women. The larger group was not randomly selected. But, because participants were solicited from a wide variety of souces, Overlooked Opinions Inc., which conducted the survey, feels that findings can be applied nationally. Other demographic and statistical experts urge caution, saying there is no way to know whether the pool is representative of all gay and lesbian Americans.
