- FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL (CC).  This movie has
received much praise from readers for its positive
portrayal of a gay male couple.  Airs:

- JUST ONE OF THE GUYS.  Joyce Hyser stars as a high
school student who pretends to be male and enrolls in
another school, to research a newspaper article on sexism.
When she falls in love with a male friend at the other
school, her classmates think that Joyce is a gay male.  A
well done 1985 movie.  Airs:

- STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE.  TV Guide says:  "Star Trek
once created controversy by pairing Kirk and Uhura for an
interracial kiss.  Star Trek: Deep Space Nine serves up
another thought-provoking smooch, this one being two
female actresses playing symbionts."  A UPN ST:DS9 ad
elsewhere in the TV Guide says:  "In a previous life they
were husband and wife....will Dax risk everything for her
one true love?"  Syndicated.  Check local listings.  This
show will rebroadcast this weekend in many areas.  Airings

- TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL (CC).  Airs Sat. 11/4/95, 9:00 pm,
CBS.  TV Guide says:  "Natalie Cole plays an HIV-positive
woman who accepts the marriage proposal of a man that
she's known since childhood, prompting his mother (Maya
Angelou) to express concerns about the union."

- PLANET HOLLYWOOD COMES HOME (CC).  Airs Sat. 11/4/95,
10:00 pm, ABC.  According to TV Guide, this show will
include a performance by Elton John.  They say:  "Coverage
of the Sept. 17 opening of the restaurant's Beverly Hills
location.  Included are appearances by Arnold
Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Demi
Moore and Roseanne; performances by Elton John, Chuck
Berry and Sinbad; and interviews conducted by comedienne
Paula Poundstone."

- THE CHRISTINE JORGENSEN STORY.  Airs in Phila. PA on
Sat.-Sun., 11/4-5/95, 3:00 am, on WCAU ch. 10.  "(1970)
How the celebrated transsexual (John Hansen) got that way.
Thora: Joan Tompkins.  Jorgensen Sr.: John Himes.  Tom:

- SMART SEX.  Airs Sun. 11/5/95, 5:00 pm, MTV.  TV Guide
just describes this as a "documentary".  It seems likely
to address AIDS issues, but no promises.

- SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION.  Airs Sun.-Mon. 11/5-6/95,
3:05 am, Showtime cable.  Entertaining and reportedly
fact-based story of a gay con man.  Will Smith plays the
con artist.  Sir Ian McKellen, Stockard Channing, and
Donald Sutherland also co-star.

- MELROSE PLACE (CC).  Airs Mon. 11/6/95, 8:00 mp, Fox.
TV Guide says "Matt celebrates getting into med school."

- POSITIVE HEALTH.  Airs in Phila. PA on Tues. 11/7/95,
7:30 pm, on WYBE ch. 35.  A local weekly show by and for
people with AIDS and HIV disease.

- INNER JOURNEYS, PUBLIC STANDS.  Airs in Denver CO on
Wed. 11/8/95, 8:00 pm, on Denver KBDI ch. 12.  May or may
not air on other PBS stations.  A documentary about 18
heterosexual allies of gay rights (including a friend of
mine - go, Kat!), and what motivated them to take public
stands on this issue.

"Danny (Cree Summer) resents being shuffled off to a hotel
while Rosetta's parents visit."-TV Guide  (Danny and
Rosetta are a Black lesbian couple.)

- GREAT PERFORMANCES (CC):  "IN THE WINGS: ANGELS IN
AMERICA ON BROADWAY".  Airs Wed. 11/8/95 on some PBS
stations, including 11:00 pm on Phila. PA WHYY ch. 12.  TV
Guide says that this show "blends cast interviews with
comments from directory George C. Wolfe and playwright
Tony Kushner to study Kushner's controversial, Pulitzer-
winning Broadway play, 'Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia
on National Themes.'  Included:  rehearsal sessions."

- PERSONAL BEST.  Airs Thurs.-Fri., 11/9-10/95, 4:00 am,
Encore cable.  Just about every lesbian I know hated this
1982 show about two lesbian Olympic athletes, in part
because their male coach is such an offensive creep.

- ARMISTEAD MAUPIN'S TALES OF THE CITY.  Parts 1 and 2 (of
6) air in San Francisco on Fri. 11/10/95, at 9:00 pm, on
KQED ch. 9.

- MY OWN PRIVATE IDAHO.  Airs Fri. 11/10/95, 11:00 pm,
Bravo cable.  Movie about two male hustlers, one of whom
is gay.

Also, a reader reports that General Hospital's ongoing
storyline about AIDS "has been handled very well."  It is
about a straight man whose AIDS has made him the target of
homophobia and AIDSphobia.  GH airs weekdays, 3:00 pm ET,
on ABC.

- WARRIOR: THE LIFE OF LEONARD PELTIER (CC).  TV Guide
says "A 1991 documentary examining the case of Leonard
Peltier, a Native American convicted of fatally shooting
two FBI agents in 1975 at a South Dakota reservation."
Many people believe that the Native American rights
activist's conviction on virtually no evidence is a
classic case of racism at work.  Airs:
