Airs in Los Angeles on Sat. 9/16/95, from 9:00 pm to
midnight, on KCET ch. 28.  (Followed at midnight by
ARMISTEAD MAUPIN IS A MAN I DREAMT UP, about the gay
author of the TALES series.)

- ROSIE O'DONNELL (CC).  Airs Sat.-Sun., 9/16-17/95, 12:05
am, on HBO cable.  I think this will be a rebroadcast of
the stand up routine in which Rosie offered her dead-on-
target thoughts about the homophobic murder of a gay Jenny
Jones guest by another guest.

- DAME EDNA EXPERIENCE.  Airs in San Francisco on
Sat.-Sun., 9/16-17/95, 1:25 am, on KQED ch. 9.  Hosted by
Australian cross-dresser Barry Humphries.

- BITTER HARVEST.  Airs Sat.-Sun., 9/16-17/95, 2:00 am, on
Showtime cable.  "A rancher (Stephen Baldwin) and two
drifters (Jennifer Rubin, Patsy Kensit) form a menage a
trois."-TV Guide

- FAMILY STORIES.  Airs Sun. 9/17/95, 5:00 pm, on Phila.
PA WHYY ch. 12.  May or may not air on other PBS stations!
TV Guide calls this "A look at the ways the changing
definition of family affects the children of interracial,
divorced, gay and lesbian, and traditional parents."

- MELROSE PLACE SHOW #1 (CC).  Airs Mon. 9/18/95, 8:00 pm,
Fox.  According to TV Guide, "Matt fights with Paul, and
later with Jake".  Another show airs Wed.  [Note:  In the
9/8/95 issue, Entertainment Weekly said: "WHAT'S OUT NOW:
The lone gay lead in a prime-time drama series is Melrose
Place's Matt Fielding, played by Doug Savant.  A year ago,
Fox snipped his kiss; this season, he'll have something
bigger - a juicy seduction-and-murder story line."]

- MAURICE.  Airs Mon. 9/18/95, 11:00 pm, Bravo cable.
Beautiful film about a gay man coming to terms with his
sexuality in Edwardian England.

- NO REWIND.  Airs in San Francisco on Mon. 9/18/95, 11:39
pm, on KQED ch. 9.  A show to educate teens about how to
prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS.

- TODAY SHOW (CC).  Airs Tues. 9/19/95, 7:00 am, NBC.
Guests include Boy George.

- POSITIVE HEALTH.  Airs in Phila. PA on Tues. 9/19/95,
7:30 pm, on WYBE ch. 35.  A local weekly show by and for
people with AIDS and HIV disease.  This week's topic:
"Frank McClellan, professor of law at Temple University
and author of 'Medical Malpractice: Law, Tactics, and
Ethics', will answer your questions about malpractice,
HMOs, medical ethics, and the law." (WYBE program guide)

- ROSEANNE (CC).  Airs Tues. 9/19/95, 8:00 pm, ABC.
Sandra Bernhard appears as Roseanne's friend Nancy in this
8th season opener, as Roseanne "is eager to invite 'every
sucker [she] can think of,' including old friends - and
potential gift-givers - Nancy, Crystal and Anne Marie
(Sandra Bernhard, Natalie West, Adilah Barnes)" to her

- PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS (CC).  Airs Tues. 9/19/95, 9:30 pm,
NBC.  TV Guide doesn't list any gay plot for this new
series' debut, but pg. 42 says the show's premise is this:
"Idealistic lawyer copes Job-like with the complexities of
modern life:  His wife loses her job, his best friend and
law colleague announces he's gay, his secretary gives him
no respect, his annoying brother-in-law moves in, and his
beloved grandma wrestles with aging."  According to
Entertainment Weekly, Brad Garrett plays the gay lawyer.

- MELROSE PLACE SHOW #2 (CC).  Airs Wed. 9/20/95, 9:00 pm,
Fox.   TV Guide says:  "Matt's lawyer (Anne-Marie Johnson)
objects to his plan for Paul (David Beecroft)".

- UNHAPPILY EVER AFTER (CC).  Airs Wed. 9/20/95, 9:30 pm,
Warner Brothers network (incl. Phila. PA WPHL ch. 17 and
national cable WPIX ch. 11).  Again, no gay plot line
listed this week, but look for out gay stand-up comic ANT,
who has a regular role in this series.

- COURTHOUSE (CC).  Airs Wed. 9/20/95, 10:00 pm, on CBS.
See pgs. 50 & 146 of the 9/16 TV Guide for info on the
lesbian couple who will be in this new show.  On pg. 146,
TV Guide notes that the original plan was for the lesbian
couple to be interracial, but that the relationship will
now be between two Black women.  No gay plot is mentioned
for this week's show, but look for actresses Jennifer
Lewis and Cree Summer, who will play the couple.

- PHILADELPHIA (CC).  Airs Wed. 9/20/95, 10:00 pm,
Showtime cabe.  Tom Hanks won an Oscar for his role as a
gay lawyer who is fired from his job when he develops AIDS
and his gayness is discovered.  Denzel Washington costars,
& the gay a cappella group The Flirtations appear briefly.

- THE CREW (CC).  Airs Thurs. 9/21/95, 8:30 pm, Fox.  Gay
flight attendant Paul is featured.  TV Guide says "Unable
to provide a urine sample for a random, company-ordered
drug test, Randy uses part of the one that Paul submitted,
but their tests don't yield the same results."

- RIGHTS & WRONGS:  HUMAN RIGHTS TV.  Airs in NYC NY on
Thurs. 9/21/95, 8:30 pm, on WNET ch. 13.  The scheduled
topic is AIDS.

- THREE OF HEARTS (CC).  Airs Thurs. 9/21/95, 9:00 pm, on
The Movie Channel cable.  Very weird movie in which a
lesbian (Kelly Lynch) hires a male gigolo (William
Baldwin) to seduce, and then drop, her bisexual ex
(Sherilyn Fenn), in the hopes that the ex would give up on
men and return to women.

- COMMUNITY FORUM: OUT OF THE CLOSET.  Airs in Phila. PA
on Thurs. 9/21/95, 9:30 pm, on WYBE ch. 35.  Monthly show
by and about the local Phila. area lesbian, gay, bisexual,
and transgender community, with particular focus on our
communities of color.

- CONFRONTING AIDS IN RURAL AMERICA.  Airs in Phila. PA on
Fri. 9/22/95, 8:00 pm, on WYBE ch. 35.  WYBE's program
guide says "This documentary examines attitudes about AIDS
and homosexuality in rural America, reflecting the ongoing
debate on moral issues surrounding the disease."

- THE PELICAN BRIEF (CC).  Airs Fri. 9/22/95, 9:40 pm,
Cinemax.  It is incidental to the plot, but one of the US
Supreme Court Justices who gets killed in this movie turns
out to have been a closeted gay man.

- LISTENING TO CHILDREN: A MORAL STORY WITH ROBERT COLES.
Airs in Tampa FL on Fri. 9/22/95, 10:00 pm, on WEDU ch. 3.
According to a correspondent, WEDU's program guide says:
"Pulitzer Prize-winning author and child psychiatrist
Robert Coles explores the lives of eight American children
who are struggling to make sense of an all-too-turbulent
world. Each child must draw upon inner resources to
resolve difficult issues, including deteriorating famlies,
alcoholism, affluence, the uncertainties of migrant life,
AIDS, racism, poverty, violence and riots."
