*************** CONTINUED FROM NOTE #2 ******************

>> LIFESTORIES: FAMILIES IN CRISIS (CC). Airs Wed.
8/9/95, 4:30 pm, HBO. TV Guide says: "Two teenage girls
cause a stir when they go to a high-school prom together.
Heidi: Sabrina Lloyd. Missy: Kate Anthony." This is a
pretty good show. (It's also the show that was discussed
in a key scene of the wonderful new lesbian movie THE
INCREDIBLY TRUE ADVENTURE OF 2 GIRLS IN LOVE.)

>> FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL (CC). Airs Wed. 8/9/95,
9:00 pm, The Movie Channel. This movie has been highly
praised by readers for the positive portrayal of a gay
couple.

>> AMERICAN PLAYHOUSE: "ARMISTEAD MAUPIN'S 'TALES OF THE
CITY'" (CC). Part 4 (of 6) airs in NYC on Thurs. 8/10/95,
10:00 pm, WNET ch. 13. May or may not air on other PBS
stations, so check your local listings. In this episode,
"Michael (Marcus D'Amico) learns that his parents are
coming to San Francisco; Mona (Chloe Webb) renews an old
relationship."-TV Guide

>> CHANTILLY LACE. Airs Thurs.-Fri., 8/10-11/95, 3:00 am,
Showtime cable. Mostly improvised movie about a group of
women who have a reunion in a cabin retreat. Two of them
are a lesbian couple, & they wind up coming out to the
group during the weekend. Although well intentioned, the
acting & improvisations are uneven.

>> TV NATION (CC). Airs Fri. 8/11/95, 8:00 pm, FOX. TV
Guide says: "The show introduces 'Love Night,' in which a
mariachi band and black cheerleaders attend a Ku Klux Klan
rally in Georgia; a chorus line 'kicks up some love' at an
Aryan Nations rally; and a gay choir serenades Sen. Jesse
Helms outside his bedroom window."

>> THREE OF HEARTS (CC). Airs Fri. 8/11/95, 9:35 pm,
Showtime cable. This is a very weird movie about a
lesbian (Kelly Lynch) who hires a male gigolo (William
Baldwin) to seduce, and then drop, her bisexual ex
(Sherilyn Fenn), in the hope that the ex will give up on
men and come back to her.

>> DAVID LETTERMAN (CC). Airs Fri. 8/11/95, 11:35 pm,
CBS. Actor Patrick Stewart appears to plug his latest
role as a gay man in the upcoming theatrical movie
JEFFREY. The movie is based on Paul Rudnick's play about
a gay man who decides to give up sex because he's afraid
of AIDS. (Also, see pg. 4 of this week's TV Guide for a
short blurb about Steven Weber's title role in the movie.)

**********************************************************

That's it for this week's gay tv shows, but also check out
the article about ultra-conservative actor Tom ("Magnum")
Selleck in this week's TV GUIDE (pp 10-17). Selleck talks
about his lawsuit against the tabloid THE GLOBE, which
printed an article that inaccurately said he was gay.
