part of WYBE's 1995 shorts festival. SEAMS is described
in WYBE's guide as: "A Brazilian queer man explores
machismo in Northeastern Brazil by focusing on the life

personal account of Brazil's social and sexual constraints

>> THE WEDDING BANQUET. Airs Wed. 7/5/95, 8:00 pm,
Cinemax. TV Guide says: "Engaging farce involving an
interracial gay couple who stage a phony marriage ceremony
to please one partner's traditional parents."

>> DOUBLE OBSESSION. Airs Wed.-Thurs., 7/5-6/95, 2:30 am,
Prism. I've never heard of this movie, but TV Guide
describes it as a "psychosaga about a woman (Margaux
Hemingway) whose obsession with her college roommate
(Maryam D'Abo) drives her to acts of violence." (Gee,
that sounds lovely, doesn't it? Homophobia alert.)

>> SALMONBERRIES. Airs Wed.-Thurs., 7/5-6/95, 4:00 am,
Prism. This is the infamous k.d.lang snoozer. Everyone I
know who has taken the time to watch this movie has
regretted it.

>> LA CAGE AUX FOLLES 3: THE WEDDING. Airs Thurs. 7/6/95,
6:00 am (NOT pm!), Cinemax. Part 3 in the saga of gay
lovers Albin and Renatto.

>> ER (CC). Airs Thurs. 7/6/95, 10:00 pm, NBC. The story
arc about the young Russian girl with AIDS continues.

>> PRICK UP YOUR EARS. Airs Thurs. 7/6/95, 11:00 pm,

>> SPECIAL EVENING WITH ELTON JOHN (CC). Airs Thurs.-Fri.
7/6-7/95, 12:05 am, Disney cable.

>> CHANTILLY LACE. Airs Fri.-Sat., 7/7-8/95, 12:25 am, on
The Movie Channel. This is a mostly-improvised movie
about a bunch of women who get together for a reunion
weekend. It turns out that two of the women are lovers,
and they come out during the weekend. The actresses'
improvised portrayal was uneven; parts were really well
done and other parts were pretty bad.

>> CRUISING. Airs Fri.-Sat., 7/7-8/95, 1:35 am, Cinemax.
TV Guide says: "Al Pacino plays an undercover cop looking
for a Manhattan killer who preys on homosexuals." I never
saw this, but I recall that the gay community was very
upset with this one when it hit the theaters. Be warned.
