Hi, folks! This is note #2 (of 2) of the list of tv shows

AIDS themes, for the tv week of Sat 4/29/95 - Fri 5/5/95.

*************** CONTINUED FROM NOTE #1 ******************

>> MRS. DOUBTFIRE (CC). Airs Sun. 4/30/95, 6:00 pm,
Cinemax. Harvey Fierstein and gay CA comic Scott Capurro
appear as the gay couple (& makeup artists) who transform
Robin Williams into an elderly woman for this movie.

>> PERSONAL BEST. Airs Sun. 4/30/95, 9:00 pm, Encore
cable. 1982 movie starring Mariel Hemingway and Patrice
Donnelly as Olympic track stars and lovers in this movie.
Most of the women I know hated this movie because of the
incredibly sexist and offensive male coach in the movie.

>> MELROSE PLACE (CC). Airs Mon. 5/1/95, 8:00 pm, Fox.
Among the plot lines is one in which "Matt (Doug Savant)
goes out with a new doctor." (TV Guide)

>> POSITIVE HEALTH. Airs in Phila. PA every Tuesday at
7:30 pm on WYBE ch. 35, including Tues. 5/2/95. A show by
and for people with AIDS and people who are HIV-positive.

>> MURPHY BROWN (CC). Airs Tues. 5/2/95, 11:35 pm, Phila
PA WTXF ch. 29. May or may not air in other areas during
daily syndicated reruns. This is the great episode in
which Jim Dial learns that the British pub he's bought is
a gay bar.

>> CHEERS (CC). Airs Wed. 5/3/95, 11:00 pm, national
cable WPIX ch. 11. Harvey Fierstein guest stars as
Rebecca's high school ex. She's still attracted to him,
and doesn't realize he's gay.

>> BITTER HARVEST. Airs Wed-Thurs., 5/3-4/95, 12:30 am,
Prism. TV Guide says: "A menage a trois between a naive
rancher (Stephen Baldwin) and two drifters (Jannifer
Rubin, Patsy Kensit)."

>> SOAPDISH (CC). Airs Fri. 5/5/95, 6:15 pm, Cinemax.
Sally Field and Kevin Kline star in this 1991 parody of tv
soap operas. One of the many villians is transgendered.

>> CHANTILLY LACE. Airs Fri. 5/5/95, 9:00 pm, The Movie
Channel. 1993 made-for-cable movie in which a cast of 7
female stars improvised a reunion of old friends. Two of
the women are portrayed as lovers. The handling of these
characters and the reactions to them is well-intentioned,
but uneven. At times it gets pretty unrealistic &/or bad.

**********************************************************

One last note: A reader contacted me to say that the CBS
show Cybill (Monday nights 9:30 pm ET) features a gay
waiter who appears as a semi-regular character.

Please be sure to read note #1 for more shows.
