>> SOAPDISH (CC).  Airs Sat. 5/14/94, 8:00 pm, national
cable ch. 11 (WPIX).  Comedic send-up of tv soap operas.
One of the many villains is transgendered.

>> PROTOCOL (CC).  Airs Tues. 5/17/94, 9:00 am, HBO.
Goldie Hawn comedy in which she plays a waitress who
becomes a diplomatic envoy.  Her housemates & best friends
are a gay male couple, who are portrayed positively.

>> CINDY CRAWFORD.  Airs Wed. 5/18/94, 10:00 pm, MTV.  The
model interviews a number of folks, including HIV-positive
athlete/coach Magic Johnson.

>> X-FILES (CC).  Airs Fri. 5/20/94, 9:00 pm, Fox.  TV
Guide says "A person who can switch gender at will is
committing murders that have ties to a religious community
known as the Kindred."

>> THE WEAVERS: WASN'T THAT A TIME.  Airs in Phila. PA on
Fri. 5/20/94, 10:00 pm, on Phila. PA WHYY ch. 12.  May or
may not also air on other PBS stations.  1982 documentary
about the folk quartet of Ronnie Gilbert, Lee Hays, Pete
Seeger, and Fred Hellerman.  The movie has interviews and
performances with the quartet and other guests, including
Holly Near.  (Note: I can't recall if Ronnie Gilbert
discusses her lesbianism in this movie or not, but she has
done so publicly on numerous occasions in the last
decade.)
