Really funny. We can't let the religious right pull it. Already there is discrimination. Ellen's show has an age rating before it plays. While Drew Carey show had nudity and did not have any rating or warning. Carey's show was a weak take off of the movie Full Monty. We need to bring discrimination to the attention of the tv world. I'm not suggesting monitoring but rather equality! Send your support to: netaudr@abc.com. If you have other addresses, please share them with us. Viewership/Advertiser Pressure Take Toll On Ellen. >> >>Are Ellen DeGeneres and her series, Ellen, about to go down for the count? >>Network officials at ABC, where the homosexual-agenda-pushing series airs, >>announced Thursday, January 15, that they are pulling the struggling program >>for six weeks beginning in March. Reportedly they are undecided about >>whether the series will return next season. >> >>Ellen, which brought ABC big ratings when DeGeneres announced her >>character's coming out on an episode last season, has been declining in the >>ratings. In fact, Ellen only ranked 51st in the Nielson ratings last week, >>pulling in approximately 13 million viewers. This is tremendously >>disappointing to ABC considering that Ellen has a heavy-hitting lead-in >>program, The Drew Carey Show, airing in the preceding timeslot. ABC is >>experiencing a diminishing audience with Ellen; there is currently a >>whopping 25 percent audience loss after Drew. >> >>This drop in ratings is exactly what was anticipated by Mr. Don Jackson, >>President of Christian Family Network, one of the many pro-family >>organizations standing in opposition to Ellen since the program began >>pushing the homosexual agenda. Mr. Jackson last year had predicted that >>once the program passed the hoopla of Ellen coming out and began a constant >>push of the homosexual agenda, the viewers would quickly be turned-off to >>what was being presented. >> >>"It was a no-brainer," says Jackson. "This series has done nothing but >>force the homosexual line on the public and the public wants no part in the >>normalization of this abhorrent lifestyle. The homosexual community only >>makes up one to two percent of the population, albeit a very vocal portion. >>There is also a small percentage of the community which is totally >>'homo-sympathetic,' ready to embrace the whole homosexual agenda. However, >>the vast majority of people reject what Ellen is trying to put forward as >>normal. It was predictable that people would turn the program off when they >>saw that Ellen DeGeneres would use her show as a weekly soapbox to change >>public perception." >> >>Apparently ABC Entertainment President Jamie Tarses is in agreement with >>Jackson's assessment. "It would be unrealistic to not at least wonder >>whether or not the content is the reason for the drop-off," said Tarses when >>addressing television critics on Thursday. >> >>Jackson is quick to point out another factor heavily involved with ABC's >>decision about Ellen. "ABC and its affiliates are having a real problem >>with ad time," states Jackson. "Advertisers are leery, on a national and >>local level, to advertise on this program due to viewer pressure. In fact, >>some local affiliates are unable to fill any local ad spots during this >>program. Nationally, ad time is selling for much less than it would for a >>more positive and acceptable program in that time slot. Many national >>advertisers do not want to be associated with this type of program which is >>unfriendly to family values." >> >>Jackson said that he would like to thank all those who have been involved >>with taking actions against Ellen. "There have been many organizations and >>individuals who have taken a stand for decency by opposing this series. >>Organizations such as the Christian Family Network and the American Family >>Association count on their support to help fight such agenda-driven >>programming. I would ask all involved to turn up the pressure now and show >>ABC that the right decision at this point is not to bring Ellen back at >>all." >>____________________________________________________ >> >>To show support for ABCs decision to pull Ellen and to encourage ABC not to >>bring the sitcom back in the Fall, send an email message to netaudr@abc.com. >> >>Mance E.
