SEGMENT #2 - LARRY KRAMER, the firebrand instigator of the AIDS Coalition to
Unleash Power, marked ACT-UP's twentieth anniversary with a new demand for
action. It was March 13th at New York City's LGBT center -- the same day U.S.
Joint Chiefs of Staff chair General Peter Pace called homosexual behavior
"immoral" -- and Kramer was primed for a fight. In an almost hour-long speech, the
author of the novel "Faggots," the play "The Normal Heart," and the
screenplay for "Women in Love" recounted the many accomplishments of ACT-UP, and detail
ed the ongoing persecution against lesbian, gay, bi, and trans people in the
U.S. and around the world, from which we have excerpts. Will activists rally
to Kramer's clarion call to take to the streets again? (with a :28
