Late November rallies in Gdansk, Lodz, Krakow and other cities protested the banning of a gay rights march in Poznan. A cross-section of human rights activists joined in to demand tolerance and freedom of speech from the country's new conservative leaders. Poland is already under a warning from the European Union not to limit the rights of gays and lesbians. New President Lech Kaczynski himself banned two local Gay Pride marches while he was mayor of WARSAW, and his campaign was peppered with anti-gay rhetoric. But people in the capitol would not be silenced this time, as DANUTA SZAFRANIEC of Free Speech Radio News reports from the streets of Warsaw [3:30]. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 4:00 SEGMENT #3 - "TWO" celebrity voice collage I.D.
