TROY PERRY, stepped down as the denomination's moderator. It can easily be said that were it not for Perry's bold pre-Stonewall action that gave birth to M.C.C., the pro-lesbigay advances -- and upheavals - that are currently rocking the religious world would never have come to pass. As Perry goes into retirement, the Rev. Nancy Wilson has been elected to take over the reigns, and was installed in a grand ceremony at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC. We'll hear what Wilson had to say at that event, but first we'll go to M.C.C.-Los Angeles for Perry's last sermon before the congregation he started 37 years ago (with intro music from "Come Out and Go Forth" by MARSHA STEVENS) . . . . . 12:45 SEGMENT #2 - "T.W.O." I.D. by GARETH and KARLENE OF J-FLAG (Jamaican Federation of Lesbians, All Sexuals and Gays). . . . . . . . . . . :15 SEGMENT #3 - Filling Rev. Perry's shoes will be no easy task, but it is a task that M.C.C. members believe THE REV. NANCY WILSON will be equal to. At the gala installation service Rev. Wilson spoke about the new challenges facing the church as she preached on the familiar story of "The Prodigal Son," who left home and squandered his fortune, but was welcomed home with open arms -- to his more responsible brother's chagrin (with intro/outro music from "Come Out and Go Forth"). . . . . . . . . . 13:25 Closing Credits/continuity . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1:25 TOTAL PROGRAM TIME . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 29:00 ===================================== * =============================== STATION PROMO COPY: ANNCR: NEXT TIME ON "THIS WAY OUT", THE REV.
