International trade union activists were among the contingent that joined with GLBT organizations to bring the issues of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression to the United Nations Commission on Human Rights meeting earlier this year in Geneva. ANNA BIONDI of the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions -- or ICFTU -- participated in a panel discussion titled "IN UNION: HOW CAN WORKERS' RIGHTS AND THE STRUGGLE FOR EQUALITY FOR SEXUAL MINORITIES ADVANCE TOGETHER?" Biondi says the work of the ICFTU, along with others -- like the ILO, the International Labour Organization, and PSI, Public Services International -- can coordinate effectively with the efforts of lesbigay groups... if only both sides stop to recognize their common goals. Biondi's comments were recorded and edited by "This Way Out" correspondent UMA KALI SHAKTI, who also attended the meeting as the Pacific Regional Representative of the International Lesbian and Gay Association. . 8:45 SEGMENT #3 - "TWO" I.D. by adoptive dad and openly gay actor BD WONG [:20] + This month's "AUDIOFILE" features politically progressive harmonies (excerpts from "Faith Comes Out" and "When A Woman" from "THE EARTH WILL TURN OVER" by SHE WHO), energetic folk-pop with a subtle sing-along ("Secret of Your Own" and the title track from "WAITING ROOM" by JULIE LOYD), and provocative blues about everything from poverty to prostitution ("What Happened to the Girl" and the title track from "WHITE TRASH GIRL" by CANDYE KANE) (with comments by the artists about their music, hosted by CHRIS WILSON & JD DOYLE, and written and produced with CHRISTOPHER DAVID TRENTHAM/www.audiofile.org) [7:00] . . . . . . . 7:20 = artist contact info = SHE WHO JULIE LOYD CANDYE KANE Karen Escovitz julie@julieloyd.com 315 S.
