Similar measures are on the November ballot in at least ten other states. In a telephonic press conference, facilitated by the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force the day after the Louisiana vote, queer advocates discussed the struggle for marriage equality and how the proposed amendments might fare in other states (with comments by TIM HORNBACK, Executive Director of LOUISIANA's Forum for Equality; MATT FOREMAN, Executive Director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and DAVE FLEISCHER, Task Force Director of Organizing and Training; AISLING COGHLAN, Campaign Manager of the No On 36 Campaign in OREGON; and SARAH REECE, Campaign Manager of No on the Amendment - KENTUCKY). Meanwhile, the U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES is likely to vote soon on the so-called FEDERAL MARRIAGE AMENDMENT -- dear to the hearts of President George W. Bush and his Republican Party -- that would add heterosexual marriage exclusivity to the U.S. Constitution. HUMAN RIGHTS CAMPAIGN President CHERYL JACQUES and HRC Legislative Director CHRISTOPHER LABONTE discuss the political maneuvering currently underway on Capitol Hill, and HRC National Field Director SETH KILBOURN assesses the impact of the several state constitutional marriage amendment ballot measures on the November presidential election. . . . 17:15 Closing continuity/credits . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1:15 TOTAL PROGRAM TIME . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 28:50 ==================================== * ================================ STATION PROMO COPY: ANNCR: NEXT TIME ON "THIS WAY OUT," A MATRIMONIAL LOSS IN LOUISIANA SETS THE STAGE FOR OTHER STATE BALLOT BATTLES, WHILE THE FEDERAL MARRIAGE AMENDMENT HAS A RETURN ENGAGEMENT IN THE U.S. HOUSE...
