One case in particular, however, is destined to raise eyebrows even among some people the organization hopes to defend: the NORTH AMERICAN MAN-BOY LOVE ASSOCIATION (NAMBLA) is being sued by the parents of a murdered Massachusetts child. This week some 3,000 e-mails allegedly between NAMBLA and one of the two men convicted of torturing, mutilating and killing 10-year-old Jeffrey Curley were submitted to the court, along with literature from the organization confiscated by police during the investigation. This Way Out's LUCIA CHAPPELLE talks with ERIC FERRERO, Public Education Director of the American Civil Liberties Union's Lesbian and Gay Rights Project, about this controversial and potentially-explosive case, and why the ACLU is going where others fear to tread [7:45]. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 7:55 SEGMENT #3 - "TWO" I.D. by openly-lesbian actress AMANDA BEARSE ("Marcy D'Arcy" from the long-running Fox TV sitcom "Married... With Children") [:10] + It was probably inevitable that the success of "Will & Grace" would bring more gay-themed TV sitcoms into America's living rooms. However the odyssey of a show debuting on the Fox Network this week proves that it may not be as easy as it looks. "NORMAL, OHIO" starring JOHN GOODMAN (perhaps best known as "Dan Connor" on the old "Roseanne" TV series) as a gay dad returning home to reconnect with his family, has been through major changes since its inception. Some critics have their doubts about the results, but BONNIE & TERRY TURNER, the award-winning husband-and-wife writing & producing team behind the hit shows "3rd Rock From The Sun" and "That 70's Show," talk with This Way Out's STEVE PRIDE about why they revamped and re-cast the show from its original Los Angeles locale to a rural family setting, their plans for lead character "Butch" (Goodman) during the first season, and why they're confident about the success of their latest venture (with a couple of preview clips) [7:40]. . . . 7:50 Closing Continuity/Credits. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1:40 TOTAL PROGRAM TIME. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 28:55 ----------------------------Please note-------------------------------- Anyone with questions, suggestions, or *news stories* is encouraged to email "TWO" Coordinating Producer Greg Gordon at TWOradio@aol.co ----------------------------- thanks! --------------------------------- STATION PROMO COPY: ANNCR: NEXT TIME ON "THIS WAY OUT", THE ODYSSEY OF THE JOHN GOODMAN- STARRING GAY-THEMED SITCOM "NORMAL, OHIO" TO THE TV SCREEN IS ANYTHING BUT, WHILE THE ACLU RISES TO NAMBLA'S DEFENSE IN A CONTROVERSIAL MASSACHUSETTS CASE...
