SEGMENT #1 -  NewsWrap:  New Zealand's High Court rules that a lesbian must
pay child support for the children her ex-partner bore during their
relationship...the Cape High Court in South Africa decrees that the same-
gender foreign partners of gay and lesbian citizens must be granted the same
immigration rights as binational married couples...actions in more than 30
states kick off the second annual National Freedom to Marry Day...a measure to
deny legal recognition to same-gender marriages another state may someday
perform advances in the Colorado state Senate, but a bill to recognize gay and
lesbian domestic partnerships for purposes of inheritance dies...Columbus,
Ohio City Council the spousal benefits for its employees' domestic partners it
extended just two months ago...a state appeals court in Louisiana strikes down
the state's almost 200-year-old "crimes against nature" law...but in
Mississippi the state sodomy law was used against a gay father in a court's
decision to deny him custody of his son, despite the violent situation in the
boy's current home...five of Britain's "Bolton 7" win reduced sentences, but
the court rejects the sex party arrestees' appeal to the European Convention
on Human Rights...and a lesbian-themed film opens Berlin Fest, while Derek
Jacobi wins the Brit Award for playing gay Francis Bacon and Sir Ian McKellen
becomes an official hot contender for a "Gods and Monsters" Oscar [compiled
