Seven men face a year or more in jail for having a private sex party in their own homes. Apparently on a lark they decided to videotape the festivities (they insist for their own private use), but a disgruntled former lodger turned the "home porn video" over to the police, leading to the prosecution and conviction of the men, now known as "THE BOLTON 7", under a "gross indecency" statute that makes private consensual homosexual sex involving more than 2 men illegal. There is no corresponding legal prohibition against similar heterosexual sexual activity. That the defendants range in age from not-quite-18 to 55 also raises the discomforting issue of intergenerational sex, and additionally underscores the urgent need for passage of promised legislation to equalize the age of consent. This report, compiled from the two most recent editions of BBC Radio 5`s weekly lesbigay program "Out This Week", includes comments by two of the defendants, Terry Connel and Craig Turner; their solicitor, Nicky Hall; and Liberal Democrat MP Dr. Evan Harris [coverage anchored by REBECCA SANDLES & TOM ROBINSON, with MATTHEW NEYLON reporting from Bolton] (intro/outro music from "Power In The Darkness" by THE TOM ROBINSON BAND) [9:40] ...... 9:45 SEGMENT #3 - "TWO" I.D. by self-identified lesbian-feminist pornographer Susie Bright ("Susie Sexpert") [:10] + The lessons we learn as children stay with us for a lifetime. Writer PETER DELL reflects on the meaning of friendship and personal loyalty, as he learned it in a poignant and powerful playground confrontation when he was a boy. Dell calls his story -- which just won a Golden Mike award from the Radio & Television News Association of Southern California -- "LOSING JASON" (outro music from "Don`t Give Up" by PETER GABRIEL) [6:00] ........................... 6:10 CLOSING CREDITS/CONTINUITY ......................................... 1:30 TOTAL PROGRAM TIME ................................................. 28:35
