And although DeGeneres has occupied center stage as Hollywood`s leading lesbian, Heche quickly became the star of her own coming out story-line when director Ivan Reitman publicly expressed his concerns about her role opposite Harrison Ford in the upcoming romantic comedy, "Six Days, Seven Nights". Reitman was quoted in the press as saying that he hadn`t been aware of Heche`s orientation when she auditioned, and had doubts as to whether audiences would accept an open lesbian in a heterosexual screen romance. During an interview with film critic PAUL WUNDER [WBAI-FM/NYC], Heche discussed how working together became an eye-opener, in different ways, for each of them [4:05] .............................................................................. .................................... 4:15 SEGMENT #3 - Billboard for "AudioFile" [:10] + "TWO" I.D. by Irish lesbian duo Zrazy (with an excerpt from their "Come Out Everybody") [:25] + The Australian government may not be doing much for gay men and lesbians in Australia, but it`s trying it`s hardest to stop harassment and violence internationally. In one-to-one discussions with foreign leaders, Foreign Affairs Minister Alexander Downer has so far urged China and Brazil to improve their treatment of sexual minorities. RODNEY CROOME, spokesperson for the Australian Centre for Lesbian and Gay Rights, discusses this curious situation with reporter CARLA OMICIOULO [from the Australian national lesbigay radio program "Out & Out"] [4:55] .............. 5:30 SEGMENT #4 - The words and music of legendary singer/songwriter JANIS IAN and California vocal quartet MEN OUT LOUD, along with the "Echoes" of British contemporary jazzman LAURICE are featured in the first "AudioFile" of 1998, hosted by CHRIS WILSON and CHRISTOPHER DAVID TRENTHAM [filling in for usual co-host Pam Marshall] .............................................................................. ........................... 6:05 CLOSING CREDITS/CONTINUITY .............................................................................. .......... 1:15 TOTAL PROGRAM TIME .............................................................................. .......................... 29:00 -----------------------------Please note-------------------------------- Anyone with questions, suggestions, or NEWS stories is encouraged to email "T.W.O."
