"This Way Out"`s DAVID SCHERZER [with production assistance by ROSS PORTER] reports from the four-day event, and talks with conference participants Robert Copane, a university grad student/activist from Michigan; Roland Cintos Coloma, a bisexual Asian/Pacific Islander university grad student/activist from California and keynote speaker at the Saturday plenary; and Alta Kavanaugh, an openly lesbian 25-year-veteran high school teacher in the conservative California town of Hemet [5:50] .............................................................................. ................................................. 6:00 SEGMENT #3 - "TWO" I.D. by Russian gay activist Roman Kalinin [:10] + Billboard for Ru Paul song [:05] + As "This Way Out"`s JON BEAUPRE reported last week, the recent Creating Change Conference in San Diego was preceded by a day long "Sex Panic" summit, organized by activists -- dubbed "queer theorists" -- who advocate unqualified sexual freedom, and condemn such writers as Larry Kramer, Gabriel Rotello, Andrew Sullivan and Michelangelo Signorile as neo-conservatives -- or "neo-cons" -- because they criticize some aspects of gay male culture and urge sexual freedom informed by knowledge and responsibility. It was the publication of Signorile`s book in particular, "Life Outside", that some people credit with stirring up what is increasingly becoming the most debated issue in the U.S. lesbigay community. This week Beaupre visits author Michelangelo Signorile at his home in New York City to discuss the controversy [6:05] .... 6:20 SEGMENT #4 - Who better to musically kick off the holiday season in especially festive fashion than Ru Paul? In a sing-a-long with Michelle Visage, the drag diva performs Dolly Parton`s "With Bells On" [from his new Rhino Records release, appropriately titled "Ho Ho Ho"] .............................................................................. ........... 3:40 CLOSING CREDITS/CONTINUITY .............................................................................. ............. 1:25 TOTAL PROGRAM TIME .............................................................................. ............................. 29:00 -----------------------------Please note-------------------------------- Anyone with questions, suggestions, or NEWS stories is encouraged to email "T.W.O."
