Gay-bashing injuries have become more serious than in years past, as the weapons most commonly used have escalated from hurled objects to bats and clubs. The frightening reality of homophobic violence, and its sometimes deadly consequences, is the subject of a new documentary by award-winning filmmaker Arthur Dong. This Way Out's JON BEAUPRE previews "LICENSED TO KILL" [includes clips from the film and comments by ARTHUR DONG, with thanks to ALAN FARLEY and CHRISTOPHER DAVID TRENTHAM for production assistance] (outro music from "High School Psychopath" by THE QUEERS) [6:40] .............................................................................. ............................. 6:55 SEGMENT #3 - "TWO" I.D. by comic Terry Sweeney as "Nancy Reagan" [with Jesse Helms (as himself) drop-in] [:15] + Insuring a safe school environment for lesbian and gay youth has gained increasing attention in the queer community, and among educators, clergy, parents, and courageous students themselves. Last year Wisconsin's Jamie Nabozny won a landmark court victory against the school district that wouldn't protect him from constant abuse, and a similar lawsuit was filed this month by a 14-year-old gay schoolboy in Australia. In California, openly-lesbian Assembly Speaker Pro Tem Sheila Kuehl is trying to legislate protections through her "Dignity For All Students Act". This Way Out's JOSY CATOGGIO talks about how to make schools safer for lesbigay youth with ELLEN BASS and KATE KAUFMAN, authors of "FREE YOUR MIND: THE BOOK FOR GAY, LESBIAN AND BISEXUAL YOUTH AND THEIR ALLIES" [published by Harper-Collins] (intro music from "My Old School" by STEELY DAN) [8:15] ............................. 8:30 CLOSING CREDITS/CONTINUITY ........................................................ 1:15 TOTAL PROGRAM TIME ........................................................................ 28:30 ----------------------Please note------------------------ Anyone with questions, suggestions, or NEWS stories is encouraged to email "T.W.O."
