SEGMENT #1 -  NewsWrap:  Amnesty International is investigating allegations
that over 20 Filipino men working in Saudi Arabia have been arrested for
homosexuality and flogged;  the entire AIDS Memorial Quilt covers the
Washington, D.C. mall, perhaps for the last time, while Parents & Friends of
Lesbians & Gays (PFLAG) hold their annual Conference, Elizabeth Taylor leads
over 100,000 in a candlelight march, and over 30 other related events honor,
protest and activate;  South African gays and lesbians expand on
constitutional protections they've already secured;  about 200 lesbigay
employees of some of the largest U.S.-based corporations gather in New York
City for the first Workplace/Marketplace Conference for Gay/Lesbian Consumer
and Employee Issues;  Republican Presidential candidate Bob Dole takes the
low road in radio ads targeting homophobes;  and the first annual Gay &
Lesbian American Music Awards are handed out in ceremonies held October 6 in

and AIDS activists and supporters swarmed into Washington, D.C. October 11th
through 13th for a wide variety of events centered on National Coming Out Day
and the first full display of the NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt there in
over four years.  Reporter FRANK STOLTZE [KPFK-FM/Los Angeles] talks with
PETER CASHMAN of ACT UP/Los Angeles about the politics of AIDS [3:05], while
VERNA AVERY BROWN [Pacifica Network News] visits the Quilt to speak with
founder CLEVE JONES, and SHARON SMITH, a Los Angeles woman whose son David
Michael Smith's panel was being displayed for the first time [5:35] (outro

SEGMENT #3 -  "TWO" I.D. by lesbian activist/author Urvashi Vaid ("Virtual
Equality") [:20]  +  October 11th's 8th annual National Coming Out Day was
especially significant for "Advocate" writer and activist Chastity Bono.
 Joining her at a Human Rights Campaign "Come Out Voting" rally, held on the
Ellipse behind the White House, and making her first appearance at a lesbigay
event, was Chastity's mother, the multi-talented CHER, who spoke briefly and
off-the-cuff to the crowd of about a thousand (intro music from "One By One"
