SEGMENT #1 -  NewsWrap:  Buenos Aires dumps police edicts once used to
torment sexual minorities;  under continuing pressure from the
Euro-Parliament, Romania moves slowly toward sodomy law reform;  the Clinton
administration tries to head off a U.S. Supreme Court review of "Don't Ask,
Don't Tell";  the current government of the Australian state of Queensland
may gut the state's anti-discrimination laws, which protect the lesbigay
community and several other minorities, and disband the independent
commission established to enforce them, while at the federal level,
Australia's current Immigation Minister may act to markedly reduce the number
of non-resident gays and lesbians allowed to live in the country with their
same-gender spouses using so-called "interdependency visas";  and California
newspaper columnists joke about state Assemblymember Pete Knight over his
crusade to ban queer marriage, even though Knight's got an adult gay son
living happily with a same-gender partner  [compiled and written by CINDY

SEGMENT #2 -- Billboard for New Mexico and Ellen/Rosie features [:10]  +  A
major case in Florida involving a lesbian mom fighting for custody of her
daughter against her ex-husband -- an ex-murderer -- ended with an appeals
court leaving the child with the father.  The decision shocked many within
the lesbian and gay community, given the father's history.  But, as This Way
Out's SUSAN GAGE reports, attorney KATE KENDALL, Executive Director of the
National Center for Lesbian Rights, says the "Ward vs. Ward" case presents
some valuable lessons for advocates working on behalf of lesbigay parents

SEGMENT #3 -  "TWO" I.D. by lesbian activist/journalist/author Sarah Schulman
[:20  +  Billboard for Ellen/Rosie feature [:10]  +   Over 130 lesbian, gay,
bisexual and transgender activists from across NEW MEXICO met in Los Alamos
during the weekend of September 20th for "Summit '96: Tools For Change".  The
skills-building event was billed as "a gathering of gay and lesbian community
leaders -- and leaders to be".  This Way Out's VAL M. COX reports from the
Conference, and talks with some of the participants [including Conference
co-coordinator TODD McELROY; openly-lesbian New Mexico state senator LIZ
STEFANICS; BOB SUMMERSGILL, publisher of the lesbigay "New Mexico Rainbow"
newspaper; AL SALTWATER of the Navajo Nation; diversity activist GLORIA
NIETO; and Conference co-coordinator MARTHA TROLIN] about the benefits -- and
challenges -- queers experience living in "The Land of Enchantment" [5:40]
