the lesbigay Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA);  OutRight Scotland
issues a "Claim of Right" manifesto detailing demands for lesbigay equality
during a Glasgow press conference;  an Australian anti-discrimination
tribunal will consider for the first time whether lesbians have a right to
artificial insemination;  a recent media poll in the former Soviet republic
of Estonia finds the public divided on the issue of adoption by gays and
lesbians;  a Florida appeals court gives lesbian mother Valerie Maradie
another chance to regain custody of her daughter;  the world's largest gay
and lesbian choral festival ends on a high note in Tampa, Florida;  lesbigay
groups in Turkey are now publishing two magazines and broadcasting
regularly-scheduled queer programming on FM stations in Istanbul and Ankara;
 and, trying to boost attendance, the minor league baseball Suns in Palm
Springs, California plan a parade of cross-dressers during their August 9th
game to crown a "Priscilla, Queen of the Desert ... Suns"  [compiled and

political, social and economic problems within the sports world.  In the
conclusion of our 4-part feature interview, TWO's JOSY CATOGGIO and ABC-TV
sportscaster DICK SCHAAP -- co-author of "GAY OLYMPIAN: THE LIFE & DEATH OF
DR. TOM WADDELL" -- examine some of these issues, talk about some prominent
gays and lesbians in sports history, and discuss the prospects for the
elimination of homophobia in amateur and professional athletics [with thanks

ritual of lesbigay culture around the world.  But has AIDS defined us as a
community?  Considering what some describe as the hedonistic focus of gay men
in the late 1970's, was AIDS an inevitable outcome?  In London, NIGEL WRENCH
[BBC Radio 5 Live's "Out This Week"] and two outspoken activists -- novelist
and "The Guardian" columnist OSCAR MOORE, and "Capital Gay" newspaper founder
and longtime organizer MICHAEL MASON -- reflect on the impact of the disease

SEGMENT #4 -  The scientific/medical outlook for AIDS at the recent 11th
International Conference On AIDS in Vancouver, British Columbia was more
promising than at previous gatherings.  Although the optimism about new
treatment protocols was tempered by the knowledge that 90% of the people
infected with HIV worldwide are too poor to buy them, reporter GLEN REEDER
[Pacifica Network News] talks with two doctors who are anxious to see the new
