SEGMENT #1 -  NewsWrap:  Canada's House Of Commons votes 2-to-1 to add sexual
orientation to the country's Human Rights Act [includes brief comments by
Canadian Justice Minister ALLAN ROCK and openly-gay Canadian M.P. SVEND
ROBINSON];  Britain's House Of Commons votes 3-to-2 to uphold that country's
ban on open gays and lesbians in the military;  making history, the Vice
Chair of the Commission of the European Union meets with the
Secretary-General of ILGA, the International Lesbian & Gay Association, for a
wide-ranging discussion of lesbigay and AIDS issues;  Australia's ANZ Bank
extends couple spousal insurance benefits to its gay and lesbian customers,
while New Zealand's Ministry of Education refuses to grant a gay male student
couple an allowance available to heterosexual couples;  The Defense Of
Marriage Act (DOMA), a federal law banning same-gender marriage, is
introduced in the U.S. Congress;  Alaska becomes the 8th U.S. state to deny
legal recognition to same-gender marriage as Governor Tony Knowles lets the
legislature-passed measure become law without his signature;  meanwhile, the
Missouri State Senate passes a similar measure, with the State House and
governor's signature expected to follow quickly;  but Maine's governor tells
the media that local homophobic activist Carolyn Cosby, who's been
campaigning against same-gender marriage, needs to get a job because, he

SEGMENT #2 -  Billboard for Krassner & Coward features [:05] +  It seems like
the entire world is talking about the right of gays and lesbians to marry,
with this week's introduction of the "Defense Of Marriage Act" (DOMA) in the
U.S. Congress only the latest in a series of pro and con developments in
several countries.  Much of the opposition to same-gender marriage seems to
be religiously-rooted.  In London, REBECCA SANDLES [BBC Radio 5 Live's "Out

during June Pride month, and performing at the Olympic Games in Atlanta this

assistance by CHRISTOPHER DAVID TRENTHAM] and brought along his latest CD
"STRONG FOR YOU" (includes excerpts from the title cut, "Son Of A

SEGMENT #4 -  KALW-FM/San Francisco programmer Alan Farley, the co-editor of
an upcoming book of the complete lyrics of NOEL COWARD, wrote in to correct
us on a story we reported last week.  We cited U.S. syndicated gossip
columnist Liz Smith, who disclosed the book's discovery of
never-before-published words to "MAD ABOUT THE BOY".  Farley says Liz quoted
them incorrectly, and enclosed PETER GREENWELL's recording of those original
Coward lyrics to prove his point
