THIS WAY OUT KEY PERSONNEL The responsibility for day-to-day decisions governing programming used on This Way Out (generally by consensus; in rare instances, yielding to the strong beliefs of one or more when issues of balance or sensitivity are involved), are made by the four principal program volunteer staff members: Greg Gordon, Coordinating Producer/Program Co-Host Lucia Chappelle, Associate Producer/Program Co-Host Cindy Friedman, News Director/NewsWrap Co-Anchor Brian Nunes, Associate News Director/NewsWrap Co-Anchor Cindy Friedman has a long history of volunteer program production with "imru", the locally-produced lesbian/gay radio program in Los Angeles (on Pacifica radio station KPFK/90.7 FM, which also carries "This Way Out"); she has worked extensively for a variety of women's and feminist causes, and has been employed in various capacities for 14 years, including as Acting Executive Director, by Haven House, a battered women's shelter in Pasadena, Calif. Brian Nunes became a core staff member in 1991, has a bachelor's degree in communications, and is currently employed by Business Wire, an international media relations wire service. Associate Producer and "This Way Out" co-host Lucia Chappelle began volunteering at KPFK in November 1973, served in the clergy of the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches (MCC) for 10 years, and, from July 1987 through January 1995 was the Program Director at KPFK. Coordinating Producer/Co-Host Greg Gordon served as the production coordinator for "imru" (as an unpaid volunteer) for almost 20 years beginning in August 1974, and is the driving force behind "This Way Out." He holds a bachelor's degree in radio-television production, and has spent most of his professional life coordinating commercial operations at various Los Angeles commercial radio and television stations. Chappelle and Gordon have worked on several radio projects together over the past 20 years; their joint credits include producing and anchoring live national broadcast coverage via satellite of the rallies following both the 1979 and 1987 Marches On Washington For Lesbian And Gay Rights.
