There's a new book out, _The Amazon Chronicles_, by Jane E. M. Robinson, that I highly recommend. This book has it all: bravery, betrayal, intrigue, glory, triumph, true love. And it's all about WOMEN! This book, obviously painstakingly-researched and extremely well-written, brings the Amazon era to life. _The Amazon Chronicles_ takes place two generations before the Trojan War (circa 1240 B.C.). It's about an Amazon woman named Penthesilea, who overcomes great obstacles to become ruler of the Amazon land. Blurbs from the back of the book: "A classic heroic saga of the women-loving Amazons who lived, loved and battled during the time of Trojan Wars--like all other heroic sagas, this one is filled with glory and defeat, brave deeds and betrayal, intrigue, jealousy, sex and love--with womanly, Lesbian difference. Don't miss it." - Marilyn Murphy, columnist and author of _Are You Girls Traveling Alone? Adventures in Lesbianic Logic_ "A long overdue lesbian literary event! The detailing is exquisitely convincing. Penthesilea, the heroine, is the intrepid dyke-next-door given free rein to prove her prowess. Fiction though it is, _The Amazon Chronicles_gave me a sense of our herstory. Inclusion of current lesbian issues like boy-child conflict and in-fighting enhanced rather than detracted from that sense." - Lee Lynch, reviewer and author Available at women's book stores and from the publisher, Clothespin Fever Press, La Mesa CA, 1-800-231-8624 --Kathy
