L.A. Freedom to Marry Coalition Seeks Volunteers for
Letter Writing Campaign to Defeat Assembly Bill 1982

The L.A. Freedom to Marry Coalition is seeking volunteers to
work in a letter writing campaign to defeat Assembly Bill 1982,
the proposed legislation that would bar recognition of legally
performed same-sex marriage from other states (pending
the success of Hawaii's Baehr vs. Lewin).

This coming Saturday, June 8, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.,
we will be tabling at the closing ceremonies of the
California AIDS Ride 3, on the corner of Melrose and
San Vicente Blvd., in W. Hollywood.  The table will be set
up on the northeast corner (by Pacific Design Center).

We really would like a lot of volunteers to help us out in getting
people to write very short letters (two to three sentences).  It is
imperative to get thousands of letters to the California
State Senate Judiciary Committee Members who will
most likely have a hearing on AB 1982 in the next couple
of weeks.  Lou Sheldon and his right-wing cohorts are mobilizing
all their forces to deny our civil rights.
