I've been on the steering committee for it since last fall, and it should be very interesting. We've tried to make it as "diverse" as possible--racially, ethnically and also with regards to sexual orientations/lifestyles. There are several APIs presenting at the conference, although I don't know them all. Alice Hom will be on the "All Our Kin" panel, Saturday, May 3, 4 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. Also, please come to my panel that I've organized and will be moderating! It's called "Tainted Blood: S/M, Punk Rock and 'Mutliation' in the Construction of Community". There will be four speakers--two are API--Christopher Lee-biracial/Eurasian FTM (that's female to male transgender), videographer, and peer educator at the API Wellness Center in S.F., and Leslie Mah-biracial/Eurasian lead guitarist and co-founder of that rad punk dyke band Tribe 8. Also, Ben Singer-FTM and a scholar at Rutgers University, and Melissa Stephenson-member of Lesbian Sex Mafia (NYC lesbian s/m organization) and The Eulenspiegel Society (TES) will present. All registration info., and dates, times, place should be listed below. You can email me for more questions.
