Date: Mon, 28 Feb 94 16:33:48 -0500 From: alan@osf.org Subject: Bi Conference: To folks outside New York City [Sent to soc.bi, soc.motss, BiAct-L, Bisexu-l, BiFem-l, Biversity, Arenal, America OnLine, Prodigy, CompuServe, Gay-Libn, UUs-L, Stonewall25.] This message is from the Bi Conference organizers in New York. If you have any questions about it (or would like to volunteer to help), contact Skyler Bode at skyler@panix.com. Okay! It's official now - we have the final registration info and stuff for the 1994 International Conference to Celebrate Bisexuality! Following is an open letter to all who may be interested in helping us make this Conference a rousing success. I'm posting a copy of the press release and registration form as well. Help us bring lots of bi-folk, and thus lots of bi-visibility, to Stonewall 25! Copy and distribute this information freely! (begin open letter) To Our Out-of-Town Friends: We hope you're as excited about the 1994 conference and Bi Pride weekend as we are! If we all pull together, we can make this a memorable, enriching, successful event. Here are some of the tasks we'd like people/organizations outside the New York area to volunteer to do: * Reproduce and distribute registration form widely. (Please make two-sided copies if possible.) * Reproduce and send the press release to appropriate local newletters/radio stations/publications. * Contact (or coordinate contact with) local college/ university queer groups and local bisexual groups to let them know about the conference. * Contact potential speakers/workshop leaders/performers/ vendors. Ask them to leave a message on 212-592-3698. That's our voice mail box. * Raise $100 or more and send it to us. We also need help organizing. Right now, it's just five of us. If you (or someone you know) want to fill one of the following roles, please let us know as soon as possible: * Fundraising Coordinator * Housing Coordinator * Engineering/Technical (sound, lights etc) * Artistic Director for the day-long performance space * Vendor Relations (esp. for out-of-town vendors) * On-Site Workshop Administrator * Access Coordinator * Stonewall Liaison * ILGA Liaison Please stay in touch with us through voicemail or e-mail to skyler@panix.com or betenoir@echonyc.com Thanks, ICCB Ad Hoc Steering Committee
