The National Steering Committee for the March On Washington
announces the competition to create an official symbol/logo which
expresses the ideals of this unique community event.

At the recent March On Washington conference, which was held in Los
Angeles, the official name for the April 25, 1993 even was agreed
upon by consensus: The March On Washington For Lesbian Gay and Bi
Equal Rights And Liberation.

The Logo:

The logo must convey two factors; (1) the location of the March - ;
Washington DC, and (2) the community participating in the March.

Logos should be submitted both with and without the words: "For
Lesbian Gay and Bi Equal Rights and Liberation", as merchandise will
be offered with and without this byline.  you may also consider
incorporating the following into your logo:
	- Racial, gender and ethnic parity
	- April 25, 1993
	- DC IN '93
	- The pink and/or black triangle
	- March On Washington
	- March On Washington For Lesbian Gay and Bi Equal Rights and
Liberation.
	- Your own unique ideas that make a great design which is
exciting but not overly decorative (simple is better).

The Awards:

The winner will of course receive the honor of having their work
appear on all communication and promotional materials.  In addition
they will receive publicity and samples of all promotional materials
on which the logo appears.  Winners will be recognized for their
contribution to the community and announced in April, 1992.  Judging
will be made by community celebrities and committee members.

How To Enter:

There is no entry fee.  Please send one entry form per design and
indicate your name, address, city, state, zip code, daytime and
evening phone numbers on the back of the artwork.

ENTRIES MUST BE POSTMARKED BY MARCH 15, 1992

Details And Specifications:

Render each logo in black and white and color (limit 4 colors please,
if black is used it is considered as one of the colors).  The color
version may be black and white with a tissue overlay indicating colors
with PMS numbers.  Send two sizes of each black and white logo: one on
an 8.5" x 11" area and another reduced to a 1.5" area.  Do not send
original artwork.  No entries can be returned unless accompanied by a
self addressed, stamped envelope.

The logo becomes the property of the March On Washington National
Steering Committee, which will copyright the design and be responsible
for licensing the use of the logo for commercial purposes.  Any use of
the logo must be approved by the MOW Merchandising Committee.
