Date: Tue, 28 Nov 1995 19:45:52 GMT From: skolander@bahnhof.se (Björn Skolander) Subject: Europride '96 in Copenhagen From: Michael Nord Europride '96 (June 21 - 30, 1996) At the end of June 1996, Copenhagen will host Europride '96, the annual European pride event for gays and lesbians, under the auspices of EPOA (European Pride Organisers Association). The organiser is CPA (Copenhagen Pride Association), an organisation with representatives from all sides of the lesbianand gay community of Copenhagen. CPA has received more than 1 million Danish Kroner from the city of Copenhagen for the Europride-project. The pride event last ten days from June 21 through June 30,1996. There will be exhibitions of lesbian art, of male photography, of gay & lesbian magazines from all of Europe, there will festivals for film, theatre, dance and chorus. There will a number of parties (gay, lesbian, leather, new age, disco and more). The main events include a gay village, called Pride Town, on one of the central squares of Copenhagen. The biggest event is a night parade, a project called A City in Parade, and this is planned to last from nine o'clock Saturday evening (June 29) to three a.m. on Sunday (June 30). The paradeorganisers plan to break two world records: The longest fireworks display and the longest discoteque, in the world. All contributions are welcome.
