And on Sunday, October 24, at 7:30 P.M., you can attend a GenderPAC special benefit performance of HEDWIG starring Ally Sheedy as Hedwig (at the Jane Street Theater, 113 Jane Street). "We are very excited to be producing our first-ever fund raiser," said Riki Wilchins, Executive Director of GenderPAC. "We couldn't have asked for a better match--Hedwig and GenderPAC! HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH is the award-winning Off-Broadway smash that shatters the conventions of musical theater (and gender identity) while satirizing American rock and roll mythology. HEDWIG tells the comic story of Hedwig, internationally ignored song stylist, and her triumphant rock & roll journey - from her bizarre childhood in East Berlin to her infamous love affair with former protege and rock icon Tommy Gnosis.
