More than 500 gay and lesbian students from across the southeast will converge on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University for this historic event February 14-16, 1997. It finally took a federal court in Mobile to rule the state's law prohibiting gay and lesbian groups from meeting on state campuses as unconstitutional before the conference could go on. A federal court case in Mobile, AL allowed the conference to take place after Alabama's State Attorney General Jeff Sessions moved to ban the conference. This year's conference is bigger and better than ever. We look foward to sharing with all of you our vision and hope for a new dawn in gay and lesbian activism and awareness!"
