FIRST ANNUAL CONFERENCE FOR COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY GAY/LESBIAN ORGANIZATIONS Please pass this notice along to anyone that might be intersted. St. Lawrence Univesrity (Canton, NY) will be holding its first annual conference for gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender student organizations. The conference will take place on Saturday, April 29, 1995 on the St. Lawrence University Campus. The keynote speaker will be author and activist Kevin Jennings. Jennings is the executive Director of GLSTN (the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Teacher's Network), which is the nation's only national organization dedicated to fighting homophobia in schools. In addition, Jennings also wrote two books, ONE TEACHR IN TEN, and BECOMING VISIBLE. The conference will have sessions addressing the following areas: increasing organization membership increasing organization power/visibility effective political actions working with other student groups in fighting oppression using the group to help fight AIDS putting on fabulous social events We are still looking for some presenters. If you have any expertise in the above areas, please get in contact with us. On-campus housing is available Depending on grants and donations from various departments, the we are hoping the conference will be FREE for everyone!!
