Please post/announce/share the following information: INQUEERY INTHEORY INDEED 6th NORTH AMERICAN CONFERENCE ON LESBIAN, GAY AND BISEXUAL STUDIES NOVEMBER 17-20, 1994 IOWA CITY, IOWA CALL FOR PAPERS AND CONFERENCE INFORMATION The program committee of "InQueery InTheory InDeed" invites papers, workshops, performances, and exhibits related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer studies. We are currently seeking academic papers, proposals for panel presentations, activist presentations, pedagogical roundtables, artists' presentations and exhbitions, activist and academic workshops, performance art, stage plays, readings. Papers and presentations in English, French, Spanish, American Sign Language, and other languages welcome. The first North American conference on lesbian and gay studies was held in 1987 at Yale University. Growing from the 300 people who attended that conference to the more than 3,000 participants at the recent Princeton-Rutgers conference, this conference makes a regional move to the midwest in 1994. The conference committee hopes to craft a conference based on ideas from artists, activists, teachers at all grade levels, researchers in all fields, journalists, photographers, dancers, writers, workers and . . . . We ask that persons interested in participating in the 1994 conference follow these guidelines in sending their proposals, papers, presentation ideas, questions and so on to the conference committee: Submit completed academic papers, readings and other prepared remarks with a brief abstract, including your name and address on the abstract only, by 15 March 1994. Requests for equipment and presentations longer than 20 minutes must be noted in the original proposal. Proposals for artists' presentations, workshops, readings involving more than one person, performances and activism/pedagogy roundtables should be no longer than five pages, and should be sent to the conference committee no later than 15 March 1994. Please include a description of material to be presented, a listing of persons involved in the presentation, a contact person and address/phone number, time needed for the presentation, and a listing of equipment required. PLEASE NOTE: VISUAL ARTISTS SEEKING PUBLIC DISPLAY SPACE, OR STAGE PERFORMERS/PERFORMANCES NEEDING PRODUCTION SUPPORT MUST SUBMIT PROPOSALS TO THE CONFERENCE COMMITTEE BY 15 SEPTEMBER 1994.
