Thank you for your interest in Log Cabin!  We are a rapidly growing group
of individuals, dedicated to bringing equal rights for gays and lesbians
to the Republican Party.  Since our formation in 1989, the Log Cabin
Republicans of Texas have come to be recognized as the voice for gay
and lesbian conservatives.  

The purpose of this mailing list is the bring an on-line microphone to our
members and supporters.  Subscribers will receive news from the Log Cabin
Republicans of Texas state organization, as well as from its chapter-areas.
NOTICE:  This is not a forum for the Log Cabin national organization,
nor other state chapters, therefore messages pertaining to these 
organizations is considered "off-topic" and not permitted.

This list is primarily for the membership of Log Cabin Texas to keep
current on topical issues, and discuss them as well.  Nevertheless, anyone
is welcome to subscribe to this list and participate!

Here are some of the goals of the Log Cabin Republicans of Texas:

*  Work actively during the 74th Texas Legislature to promote our legisla-
   tive goals.

*  Participate in gay-community events across Texas

*  Work actively within the state republican party to educate people of
   our groups' views.  

*  Elect supportive Republicans in the primary and general elections.

***  Increasing our membership ***

     Individuals supportive of bringing equal rights for gays and
lesbians to the Republican Party are invited to join!  Annual dues are
only $25. Not only do members have the right to vote on matters within
LCR/TX, but the money works for a great cause!  

     Many people's schedule's are so busy that it is difficult to attend 
meetings or social affairs.  Our mailing list helps individuals to
participate in the organization via electronic mail.  We hope that you
enjoy participating in our forum.
